Description:
TheTreaty Resource Centre was established, in 2004, to promote application of Te Tiriti within Aotearoa (in public, private, and community sectors) and to locate our efforts here within an international context. The Centre is not about Maori development or Treaty history as these are already addressed elsewhere.

The Centre is operating under the auspices of the Auckland WEA, a long-established, community-based adult education organisation which has a fundamental commitment to Te Tiriti.

      Other information:
We evaluate our work using participant and external evaluation methods, including tangata whenua. We also conduct regular peer reviews. We keep our knowledge current through reading, research, professional development and networking. Our trainers are Pākehā, Māori and Samoan.

We work in collaboration with community groups and other organisations who host the workshops by providing a venue and cups of tea. The minimum number for free workshops is 15 adults.

We can also provide courses designed to meet a specific group's needs, for which we have a range of fees: usually $100 per contact hour of education for community groups and educational institutions, $180 per contact hour for government and business groups.
